Susan Keller-Smith, Manager, Tribal Resources, single-handedly coordinated the application, resources, grants and program development for the Fallon Colony Road Reconstruction and Paving Project. From conception after the $320M grant for roads was announced several months ago, Susan Keller-Smith worked on coordinating work requirements for two projects on the colony and reservation. Her projects include the colony and the road reconstruction and paving project; second step is the road reconstruction and paving project for the reservation. 2010 FPST CALENDARS

The 2010 Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe Calendar benefitting the Senior Center will be available for purchase in mid-November 2009. Calendars will also be available on the FPST website.
 
Senior Fun Day participants voted on their favorite ideas for the 2010 Tribal Calendar. The votes came in and the “Generations Calendar” won. Beverly Hicks submitted the winning idea. The “Generations Calendar” will include pictures of people from different generations taking part in activities together. For example, grandparent’s caring for their grandchildren or a father helping his daughter with her homework.

TITLE 16—Public Health and Safety
16-10-010    Purpose and Applicability
The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the control of animals; to protect the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Colony and Reservation; and to protect the property and animals of the inhabitants of the Colony and Reservation from, damage and disease. Tribe Awarded $1.6 Million Dollars in New Grant Awards

The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe is pleased to announce that it has been recently notified that it will receive approximately $1.6 million dollars in grants.  The following is a breakdown of the newly-notified grant awards:
 
Native Language Preservation and Maintenance (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, ACF Administration for Native Americans; $213,753; 2-year grant; Education Center).  This grant supports the preservation of the Northern Paiute and Western Shoshone languages by creating a two-tier learning and preservation program – first with an educational-based program for the youth of the Tribe with a …
