Three words that summed up Ricky’s life are - laugh, love, and live!

Richard David Diaz (Ricky), 55, passed away in Lompoc on December 27th, 2009. Ricky was born in Herlong, California on August 27, 1955 to Richard Diaz of Lompoc and the late Pia Carolyn Diaz (Ceccarrelli).

Survivors include his father Rick Diaz, sister Carol A. Kirkland (husband Dwight), daughter Christina Barke, son John Milligan, nephew Shane Kirkland (wife Karlie and twins Kade and Layne), niece Jade Kirkland, grandchildren Victoria Porter, Azaylah Diaz, and Braden Milligan and his very close friend Lily Yepez …

Western Shoshone Distribution Update

A meeting was held on March 4, 2010, at the Bureau of Indian Affairs Western Regional Office in Phoenix, Arizona.  In attendance at the Meeting were top BIA officials of the Regional Office, Tribal Leaders of the Western Shoshone Member Tribes, and members of the Western Shoshone Claims Steering Committee.  Also in attendance was Wendy Helgemo, Counsel, of Senator Reid’s staff.
 
Main topics of discussion were the application numbers, processing applications and issues involved, the appeals process for denied applications, deadlines and cutoff dates, and the possibility of a public meeting.  …

I was elected the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe Treasurer in October, 2006. The Tribal Treasurer’s responsibilities are listed in the Bylaws of the Tribal Constitution and Bylaws:
