WASHINGTON – Today, in taped remarks to the 2009 National Congress of American Indians Mid-Year Conference, President Barack Obama announced the appointment of Kimberly Teehee as Senior Policy Advisor for Native American Affairs. As a member of the Domestic Policy Council, Teehee will advise the President on issues impacting Indian Country. CROW RESERVATION, Mont. - Ta’shon Rain Little Light, a happy little girl who loved to dance and dress up in traditional American Indian clothes, had stopped eating and walking. She complained constantly to her mother that her stomach hurt.

The Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe, Nevada Intertribal Council, Nevada Microenterprise Initiative, U.S. Small Business Administration and the Nevada Indian Commission hosted the Tribal Energy Summit on June 11, 2009. I was invited to attend the 11th Annual National Health and Human Service Tribal and Budget Consultation Session in Washington, DC on April 29-30, 2009.
As the current Chairman, Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe and current President, Indian Health Board of Nevada, I am in a unique position to address the disparities and lack of data not only in my own community, but throughout Nevada’s Native American communities.
