Oriana Street, Spelling Bee Champion

UPDATE: The Spaghetti Feed, Bingo and Raffle raised the necessary funds to travel to Las Vegas.
Orianah Street won the Churchill County School District Spelling Bee, a district-wide competition with up to two participants from each elementary school’s 6th grade classroom, for a total of just over 20 spellers. Orianah qualified for the spelling bee after earning one of the top two scores on a 50 word qualification test given to her class taught by Ms. Kristina Murphy. According to Ms. Murphy, Orianah was a last minute addition to the program. …

Fallon Headstart Selected for Incentive Award

 Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada’s Head Start staff members, Beverly Hicks, Kim Conklin, Brenda Hicks and Natalie Pacheco have been selected to attend the 29th Annual Native American Child and Family Conference in Chandler, Arizona February 28 through March 4, 2010.
 
The goal of the NACFC is to provide Head Start Programs with training opportunities to build their capacity in providing quality services.

Time: 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Transportation:
To Program: Take Bus #40 from Churchill County Schools to the Tribal Education Center
To Home: Tribal Vans will provide transportation to the Colony, Fox Peak and Reservation residents
Applications: Applications must be completed prior to student participation in the program. Applications are available at the Tribal Administration and Tribal Education buildings.
Program Capacity: Once program capacity is reached a waiting list will be established.

International architecture, planning, engineering, interior design and program management firm Leo A Daly <http://www.leoadaly.com/>  announces the establishment of the Leo A. Daly Scholarship Fund for the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
