We are happy to announce that there are two Community Gardens for the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe. A community garden is a great way to learn about growing your own food with family, friends, and neighbors. The larger plot is located on the Reservation, near the Tribal Gym. The other plot is located at the Colony, near the Tribal Health Clinic. These garden projects were made possible through a grant project called Project Orange Thumb. HEALTH CARE COVERAGE:
Health care through the Indian Health Service for American Indians and Alaska Natives is provided in two ways:
Direct Care: Direct care includes all health services provided directly Indian Health Service hospitals, clinics and health centers.
Contract Health Services: Some services (such as hand services, cardiac testing, MRIs) are not available at many Indian Health Service hospitals or clinics. These services may require a referral to a non-Indian Health Service facility or doctor. This referral does not mean that Indian Health Service will pay for the service(s) requested. The Contract …

RATTLESNAKE FAQ’s by Christie Klinger from www.alongtheway.org
Q. How can I tell the difference between a rattlesnake and a harmless non-venomous snake?

Secondly, they have a rattle on the end of their tail. Sometimes the rattle may be broken or missing, and the small button of a baby rattlesnakes rattle may be hard to see. If you can’t quickly determine from a safe distance whether a …

CROW RESERVATION, Mont. - Ta’shon Rain Little Light, a happy little girl who loved to dance and dress up in traditional American Indian clothes, had stopped eating and walking. She complained constantly to her mother that her stomach hurt.
When Stephanie Little Light took her daughter to the Indian Health Service clinic in this wind-swept and remote corner of Montana, they told her the 5-year-old was depressed.
Ta’Shon’s pain rapidly worsened and she visited the clinic about 10 more times over several months before her lung collapsed and she was airlifted to …
