The Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe will begin operation of a Drug Court in August.  Drug Courts are not new in the United States; in fact they have been around in some form or another for over 10 years.
National studies of existing and new Drug Courts have indicated that the Drug Court is the best practice in the treatment of offenders whose main problem is alcohol or drug abuse.  Addictive substances can be a part of their crimes or a contributing factor in their criminal behavior.
