Tribal Members have asked questions regarding the Finance Department and the condition of the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe’s financial picture. I am unable to answer those questions because of incomplete records. CFO Group, the Tribe’s auditing firm recommended hiring consultants to reconcile the Tribe’s financial records. When the reconciliation is completed, CFO Group will be able to complete the 2008 and 2009 audits. We will be able to answer financial questions and finalize the 2010 Tribal Budget then.

On Thursday, August 26, 2010, at 5:30 PM in the Tribal Administration Council Chambers Rulan Stands, Treasurer and the Finance staff invite the entire tribe to attend an open meeting regarding the Finance Department. This is your opportunity to openly and candidly discuss any problems that Tribal Members have experienced with Finance – you have no fear of retaliation. If you have questions regarding department budgets, check reimbursements, per capita checks, paychecks, settlement funds, investment processes, bank procedures, expenditures, etc., i.e., then this meeting is for you. Please join Finance for refreshments.

The Membership Services Office is currently updating membership address changes for the upcoming Per Capita Distribution for 2009. All address changes must be submitted in writing, hand delivered or post marked not later than November 21, 2009, to the Membership Services Office.
