Community Coordinator~ Circles of Care

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Community Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the Circles of Care grant project activities are culturally competent and community based; developing programs for young people and to facilitate their involvement in the planning and development of a system of care model to support mental health and wellness; promote youth leadership and youth voice and advocate for family driven care principles and practices. To facilitate family involvement as well as other community members in the planning and development of a system of care model approach to support mental health and wellness for children, youth and families.
1.This position requires compliance with the Indian Child protection and Family Violence prevention act Public Law 101-630; 25 Code of Federal Regulations Part 63 – Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention; Crime Control Act of 1990, Employee background checks; and Executive Order 12968, Adjudicative guidelines and therefore must successfully complete an extensive background check before starting employment.
2. This position requires that the candidate be a mandated reporter.
3. Must have a valid Nevada’s driver’s license and be insurable through the Tribe.
4. This position may be required to travel to meetings and trainings in Tribal communities in Northern Nevada.
5. Must successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol and random drug screens.
Education and Experience: Preferred Qualifications:
1. An undergraduate degree in Human Services or related field and two or more years’ experience administering and or managing community development and leadership programs.
2. Minimum Qualifications: AA degree in Health and/or Human Services or related field of study and two or more years of previous experience in community based services.
