The emergency management assistant is under the direct supervision of the emergency management coordinator. This is a full time seasonal/intermittent position that provides administrative support to the emergency management coordinator and general assistance to the department of public safety. Assist with organization and filling documents of meetings, training, exercises, and emergency operations. Assist with emergency operations such as drive-thru deliveries in the tribal or neighboring tribal communities. Assist with outreach including newsletters articles, flyers, and or events. Qualifications: Must have ability to communicate effectively with other members of the staff, supervisors, and the public. Must have ability to communicate in both written and verbal form. Must be competent with standard office equipment, computer and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office software. Must be able to successfully complete ICS 100, 200, 700 and 800 within (3) three months of hire. Must be able to effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. Must be able to take directions and complete tasks assigned in the time specified. Must have valid Nevada drivers license and insurable under FPST or tribal insurance policy. The duties of this job include physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, standing, reaching, walking, lifting and/or move (up to 25 pounds) and repetitive motion. The duties of this job include working in outdoor environment heat/cold for extended periods as in and office setting. Preference given to qualified Tribal and Indian applicants in accordance with 25 CFR. Pays $15.31 – $18.28 hourly. Closes November 16, 2020 at 5:00 pm.
